Haunted Hotel
Boutique Hotel with ancient guests who never checked out.
The Get Spooked Hotel was originally built in 1892 as the Black Hollow Inn, a luxurious retreat for wealthy travelers. However, tragedy struck in 1903 when a massive fire engulfed the east wing, killing several guests and staff. Though the hotel was rebuilt, strange occurrences soon plagued the establishment—footsteps echoing in empty hallways, doors locking on their own, and guests waking up to whispers in the dark. Over time, rumors spread that the spirits of those lost in the fire still roamed the halls, unable to move on. Today, it’s a popular destination for paranormal enthusiasts.
Phantom footsteps in the first floor hallway at 3 a.m. Room 214 is known for the bathroom door locking on its own and guests finding the water taps running on their own. Guests who have stayed in Room 333 have heard their names whispered at night as they are trying to sleep and the feeling of someone trying to pull them out of bed.

Stayed in room 214, October 2024
Spooky experience rating: 👻👻👻👻👻
My friend and I were looking for something fun to do for Halloween so we decided to stay at the Get Spooked Hotel … and we got more than we bargained for! We had to call and specifically asked for Room 214 because it’s supposed to have a lot of activity, and we were so lucky that it was not booked on Halloween!
When we first arrived, the moment we stepped into the room we could tell it had an eerie vibe to it. There was a cold spot near the door and my earbud would make a static noise whenever I stood in it. My earbud has never made that sound before or since. Though we did not experience the bathroom door locking or the taps running, our bathroom door did creak open on its own while we were sitting there, and when we got back from dinner we found all of our towels lying on the ground when they had definitely been hung up before we had left! SO SCARY!
We did bring a Ouijia board, but then we chickened out and got too scared to actually use it.
Aside from the supernatural thrills, the hotel itself was fantastic—comfy beds, friendly staff, and a great indoor pool. If you love a good scare, Get Spooked Hotel is the perfect Halloween getaway. Just don’t be surprised if you leave with a ghostly new friend!
Five out of five ghosts. Would definitely haunt this place again! Next time I’ll try and be brave enough to use the Ouija board.
